What will you be doing?

The Network Engineer will support an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designing, maintaining, and operating Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs), Wireless, Internet connectivity, and Network Security
• Maintain existing network equipment, installing new equipment in plant environments.
  Optimize end-to-end system performance and dataflow management.
• Conduct data captures to obtain network performance information.
• Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools.
• Provide input to the design of the organization's network and mission architecture.
• Design solutions, integrate, configure, deploy, test and provide ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologies.
• Configure and optimize the network to connect various front-end and back-end components.
• Gather needed data to specify system/component performance and interface requirements.
• Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPN s, firewall contexts, Traffic Shaping Voice over IP (VoIP), GRE Tunneling, IP Security (IPSec), IP Encryption,
• Media over IP (MoIP), and network address translation (NAT) where appropriate.
• Must have flexible working hours to be available to support team when needed to include: occasional on call support (typically one week at a time every two months) or additional hours based on mission need.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Bachelor s degree and 8 years of network engineering experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Excellent analytical capabilities including creative problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Committed to documentation and organization efforts.
• Capable of multitasking while working in a constantly shifting environment with many moving pieces.
• Must have a DoD IAT level II baseline certification, prior to start (Sec ).
• Proficiency with Juniper IOS, MX5 routers, SONUS SBC SRX Firewalls, etc
